In Syria too, after 13 years of relentless conflict, farmlands have been decimated, and farmers must choose between trying to restore their land or abandon a way of life that has sustained their families and communities for generations. While in Iraq, oil spills are devastating land ravaged by decades of conflict and deterioration, leaving farmers without hope.
